Years Sewing: I
have been a commissioned quilter since 1978. My experience started by putting my name in at
Mormon Handicraft many years ago as a hand quilter. I have taught piecing
classes, repair and restoration work, individual designing, piecing, symbolism
and hand quilting for 27 years. Much of my time is spent hand quilting
for those who love to piece their own tops. I have the trust of my
regular clients from WY, CA, and UT.
Quilt Designer: My favorite thing
is designing with both fabric and thread. I incorporate symbolism with
religious events as well as Eagle Scout quilts.
State Events: I guess one could
say that this year 2005, I have set the goal to ‘come out of the closet’ (my
sewing closet.) This year, was my first time attending and very much
enjoying the Utah Quilt Festival. I have attended museums with quilting
friends, attended the CHAD quilt display, and participated in the Shop Hop and
other displays in the state.
Other: I volunteered for the
Holiday Quilt Show in November 2005. I participate in a new area of
quilting with The Utah-Idaho Quilt Appraisals Study Group. Appraising
brings a new area to growth in my life and expands my love of quilting.
