After 35 years of
garment making, quilting caught my interest around 1998. Actually, my
oldest sister got me interesting by showing me some of her projects.
Shortly thereafter, I attended a local quilt guild’s monthly meeting, and the
quilting bug really bit me.
My early work was very traditional, but soon after I discovered that the
satisfaction of creating original designs was “what it was all about” for
me. Nature, animals and landscapes are strong influences in my
work. Specific technique interests include, but are not limited to,
dimensional designs, hand-painted fabrics and designs, fine edge finishes,
embellished trapunto, intricate appliqué and free-motion thread embellishment.
Historically, workshops have been presented to quilters in a five-state area
including ID, MT, WY, WA and UT.
I am an American Quilter’s Society (AQS) Certified Textile Appraiser, a Professional Association of
Appraisers - Quilted Textiles (PAAQT) member, a Snake
River Valley Quilt Guild member and a Utah
Quilt Guild member. In 2004, I became a founding member of the textile
art group “Artists With A Common Thread,” which is based in Idaho Falls, ID.
