Memories

by Becky Smith

The kids are back in school and the summer of 2010 will officially be coming to an end this month.  Some of the ladies have been appliquéing fun flip flops and reminiscing about their childhood summers! The colors are bright and exciting, I can‟t wait to see this quilt put together.

Many hand quilters that I have talked to said that their childhood memory of quilting was under the quilt frame. They said that if a particular quilt was really hard to get through, their job was to push the needle back up, the stab and jab method. As they got older, they sat next to an experienced quilter and learned the love of quilting.

That is what is so great about Quilt Days. It gives you the opportunity to do and learn something new or use the talent that you have with others that have the same interest. If you would like to see some of the photos taken at Quilt Days, just go to the UQG blog.

Everyone is welcome to come to the beautiful Colonial House at 259 E. 7th Avenue in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, September 28th. We will be quilting from 9 am until 3 pm. As always, a great lunch will be served.
