Membership

THE UTAH QUILT GUILD is a non-profit organization formed in 1977 to encourage, promote, and preserve the art of quiltmaking in Utah. These goals are accomplished by fostering an appreciation of fine quilts; sponsoring and supporting quilting activities; teaching quiltmaking techniques and a knowledge of textiles and patterns; and seeking out the history of quilting and quiltmakers.

An Annual Meeting is held in the fall and includes a show, workshops, and merchants mall. The, Guild also sponsors other shows and workshops during the year. Fees for workshops are discounted for Guild members.

The Guild is also involved in community service, projects, such as the biennial Holiday Quilt Show and Auction which benefits LDS Hospital. Interested quilters meet at Colonial House in Salt Lake on the fourth Tuesday of each month, from nine to three o'clock, to make the quilts. Over the years, these quilts have raised well over half a million dollars for medical research and education.

The state Guild is divided into Areas, Chapters; most and the Areas into early each month. chapters meet regularly each month. Newcomers are welcome at Area and Chapter meetings. A list of the open chapters' meeting times and activities is included in the Beeline Newsletter which also includes news. of local quilters, shows, contests, Patterns, and other information. The Beeline Newsletter is published eleven times a year.

Membership in the Guild also includes the use of the Guild library of over 200 quilt books, magazines, and videos.

Membership in the Utah Quilt Guild is open to anyone who is interested in quilts and quilting. Annual dues are $18. Membership extends for one year from the payment date. If you would like more information, call the representative shown for your area.
