This is a fun Quilt class that teaches how to make two of the poinsettia blocks at the same time. The quilt comes in an option of 3 sizes with present blocks set around it or the smaller poinsettia size can be used as a centerpiece for the table. Large Quilt is Quilt Size 86 in X 86in

Intrigue and mystery surround the mystic of a Mystery Project. If you haven?t participated in a Mystery before, this is your year! Each daily clue, coupled with your sleuthing skills, brings you closer to solving the Mystery. Clues are given daily beginning with Tuesday evening and at lunch time each day. The reveal is always on Saturday morning and we have a special showing of last year?s completed projects at the luncheon on Saturday. The Christmas Box International works to prevent child abuse and defend children through a culture of universal diversity, inclusion, and love. They partner with local, national, and international groups to improve the quality of life for children, teens, and young adults who are victims of abuse, neglect, trafficking, or are facing homelessness. We will be collecting 12-1/2 inch block to be sewn together on Wednesday evening.

As you save your orphan blocks to be sewn into a family of beautiful quilts, I hope you'll also think of us if you have batting that may need a new home also. The quilt tops completed at Quilt Fest will need to be quilted which requires batting and backing, a little larger expense than just an orphan block or two. If you have it in your heart, we'd really appreciate batting also. Our largest quilts are often twin size, so twin or lap sizes would be greatly appreciated.

The Nutcracker is a table mat/wall hanging project made of wool & silk velvet; and embellished with a variety threads such as Pearl Cotton,Trebizond Silk, Braided Metallic thread, Sue Spargo's Razzle and Dazzle, Hot Fix gold studs & crystals, and more. You will learn how to prep, applique, and embellish wool with a variety of embroidery stitches. We will talk about finishing with a backing and blanket stitch. The finished quilt is 72 x 72 inches. This quilt was made at a retreat in Hamilton, Missouri and the entire group enjoyed making it. The pattern is from Cut Loose Press. This is a fall quilt. It is made with two blocks that are placed on the diagonal. There are two blocks in the quilt. A leaf block and a 16-patch block. There are half 16 patch blocks that are on the outside edge and because they are placed on the diagonal it gives an added bonus with the squares creating nice edge butting up to the inner border. The perfect border can often make the difference between an ordinary quilt and an extraordinary quilt. A border can surround the interior blocks of a quilt bringing them to an abrupt halt or it can gently encourage those blocks to fill out the quilt and finish it. An exciting border can bring life to a plain quilt top, making the border the focal point of the quilt. This lecture will teach you how to figure out how to make your pieced borders the correct size to match your quilt top.

This trunk show will display the challenge quilts I have created over more than 15 years. Each year, whether through a quilt guild or with the Utah State Fair Quilt Challenge, I love to participate with challenge quilts. I do this so I can challenge myself to learn different quilt techniques with each one I create. It has allowed me to stretch my creativity and create quilts using various techniques that I have learned along the way. Do your scraps multiply each day? What could I possibly do with so many strips of all sizes? My scrappy colors are all the same! Answers: Yes, they do multiply or so it seems. There are many solutions for using the myriad of strips. By exchanging with others in the class, this exercise provides "many colors" and "many sizes". Bring your various size strips in all colors, coupled with an open mind and a willing heart and we'll create that "DAY" quilt for those cooler temps or a covering for a summertime nap in the hammock.
