Class Description: Hexagons are all the rage, so we are going to make some hexagon blocks! In this class you will learn how to rotary cut 60° shapes without templates, plus the techniques needed to create beautiful machine-pieced hexagon blocks. Choose from 30 block patterns and four different settings to make a quilt that is uniquely yours. Techniques taught will include fussy cutting, strip piecing, partial seams and inset seams. Accurate cutting and piecing skills are required!
Class Supply List: Sewing machine; neutral color thread (or color to match your fabrics); rotary cutter and mat; 60° triangle ruler (8" size or larger); small ruler (6 in x 12 in or similar); basic sewing supplies. Fabrics: Bring a variety of fat quarters and/or yardage in several color families, including lights, mediums and darks. Total yardage amounts required depend on the finished size of your quilt and your choice of setting. You may want to start with a multi-colored border and select your fabrics to match. You may also want to select a second fabric for setting triangles or spacers between your blocks (not needed for all setting options).
