Class Description:  The Star Baby quilt is an introductory pattern that can be completed in just a few hours and used to learn basic paper piecing techniques that can be applied to many of the other Quiltworx lone star projects.  There are enough papers in the pattern to make (2) Star Baby quilts.  Replacement papers are available if you decide you want to try out one of the larger layouts, such as the Goodnight Star.  The quilt finishes at 40” X 40” with the optional border.  This class will require some pre-cutting of pattern and fabric.

Supply List:  Sewing Machine with a quarter inch foot (without a guard) or an open toe foot, box of jumbo paper clips, flower pins, rotary cutter, mat, 6” x 24” rotary cutting ruler for cutting yardage, medium size mat for trimming; Add-A-Quarter ruler (12” preferable), folding template (3” x 12” piece of template plastic), #70 sharp needle, good quality 50 wt thread, UHU glue stick (or similar product), re-positionable glue stick optional, colored sharpie and pencil, small scissors, and seam ripper.

Pattern and Fabric: Based on 42” WOF:  (9) 2 ½ inch width of fabric strips (one for each of the diamonds in the Star diamond unit-refer to picture); Background – 25 inch width of fabric; Border – 20 inch width of fabric.

Included in Kit:  Limited number of pink or teal kits available.  All the fabric to make the Star Baby top included.  Please email instructor if you would like a kit.
