Description: The Nutcracker is a table mat/wall hanging project made of wool & silk velvet; and embellished with a variety threads such as Pearl Cotton,Trebizond Silk, Braided Metallic thread, Sue Spargo's Razzle and Dazzle, Hot Fix gold studs & crystals, and more. You will learn how to prep, applique, and embellish wool with a variety of embroidery stitches. We will talk about finishing with a backing and blanket stitch. The kit will include all wool, silk velvet, and hot fix items, and embellishment threads needed and a threader. You will need to bring a variety of your own needles which I will email a list to all participants. This class will be split into 2 classes with a day in between allowing time for the wool to be whip stitched onto the background before we go on to the embellishment class.
