The flowers you select for your own designed vase will then be appliqu?d on wool which will then be the flowers in your original arrangement. You will be taught Broderie Perse, Wool Applique, stems, leaves, and finally hand embroidery embellishment for your flowers. The medallion you have designed and executed can then be the center of a wall hanging or any other finished project and will be totally your original design. You will learn to make a quick set of triangles and then put together a quilt that gives the effect of water rippling over pebbles in a creek. The effect is stunning and all-consuming as you watch the magic unfold. This pattern lends itself very well to those large bold prints such as florals or Kaffe Fassett's, or other collections that you purchase because you love them, but which often sit unused as they can be hard to put together. You may want to choose a theme to express in your fabrics such as fire, a walk along the beach, autumn, or gardening. Batiks and solid fabrics can be stunning too. The trick to the shimmer is in using correct value & color separation between the bold prints and correct placement of the half-square triangle blocks. This pattern was created by Jenny Bowker from Australia. I may not have her cute accent, but I have her permission to teach this class. Since time is limited, we will only work on a small portion of the quilt, but each student will understand how to make the triangle blocks with the correct placement and value separation to continue their shimmer at home.

Cost: $ 71.42
Have you been longing to design your own quilts? Or would you like to create a plan for how you will quilt your newest project? Explore the beauty, ease and flexibility of digital drawing using Inkscape, a free design program for both Windows and MacOS X. Learn how to create a drawing that you can take in any direction, from a simple block to a professional-quality quilt pattern. You will work alongside Jaimie as she teaches you how to use Inkscape?s many tools to reproduce a pattern from start to finish, design a quilt, and then tweak that design to make it your own.
