308-23: Posh Penelope - Karin Crawford

Come quilt with me and make yourself a POSH PENELOPE. This innovative, contemporary quilt is bright, eye-catching and certainly appealing to all.

It looks very difficult to make, but actually, using Sew Kind of Wonderful Quick Curve Ruler (6 x 10 inch) and the Sew Square 6 Ruler, you will be very happy with the resulting 12 x 12 inch (unfinished) blocks.  This quilt is a great way to use up your bright fabric scraps for the flower petals and your solid (or reads solid) fat quarters for the background of the blocks. The quilt is 6 blocks wide by 7 blocks long for a total of 42 blocks. However, the 9 block wall hanging is very quick and looks amazing as an option.

Approximate Size: 69 x 80 inches

I will also have some background fabric for you to trade with. The background fabric should be lighter in color to make the contrast greater between the flower petals and the background. Tone on tone also works for background and do not forget to bring in some grays as the contemporary quilts seem to have gray some or many places in the quilt.
