Class Title:  How Do I Quilt It?

Lecture

Join Kim Sandberg and Kristina Whitney, two of our local Handi Quilter studio educators, as they walk you through the steps of deciding how to quilt your next project. Whether you quilt it yourself, or hire out the quilting, this class will consider many different ways to audition designs, choose thread and pick the best batting for your project. This class teaches you how to build your own quilting committee.   This class has been taught at major shows across the country, and it’s available to the Utah Quilt Guild as a first showing in this format.

Class Title:  Irish Jig

Project – pattern will be available as a free pdf download with the course.

Levels:  All levels

Class Description:

What looks like an Irish Chain, but is so much faster to put together?  Florence has a great way using the The Irish Jig pattern to showcase a "layer cake", a collection of themed fabrics or just scraps.  Although the construction is simple, the tips and tricks provided in this class will help keep you organized and allow for stress-free construction.  Once you make your first Irish Jig, you'll want to keep making more! This will become a "go-to" pattern for seasonal or holiday sofa throws or quick gifts.  The pattern is easily enlarged for bed-sized quilts.

One "Layer Cake" (40 @ 10" squares) or use your scraps, fat quarters or stash
