502 - Backpack Sling – Leah Newitt

Description: This is a sling bag that converts to a backpack. It is quilted by machine and appliqued/embroidered and embellished as desired. It has a drawstring pocket inside, with 2 zippered inside pockets as well. The lining is rip stop nylon. There is also a key fob that is attached inside the bag.
You will be required to order the kit and pattern from me ahead of time. After payment is received, it will be mailed to you. You will have some pre-class work to do! You will receive the kit in plenty of time to prepare for class (depending on when you sign up)

Supply List: BSK, Sewing Machine, matching threads, fabric scraps for applique, wool scraps, embroidery floss, walking foot. Hand needles and thread for applique and embroidery. Bring any kind of embellishment that you would like. I will give you some ideas in the pre class instructions
Kit Items: Full kit includes fabric, zippers and hardware and pattern, (2) 3/4-inch D rings
(1) 1 ½ inch D ring, and (3) ¾ inch swivel clips with D rings
Fabrics:
Batting (4) 14 x 16 in squares
(2) 14 x 16 squares scrap fabric (will not be seen)
Fabric assortment for decorative patches for bag front and back, the size of each front and back, the size of each front and back piece should be 14 H x 16 W
3/8-yard main fabric for bottom of bag and straps (purse fabric)
½ yard of waterproof rip stop nylon fabric for lining, inside pockets and drawstring pocket
